Thirty-Six
Thirty-Six follows the first meeting of Joe and Jenny, twenty-something, young professionals yearning for connection. Following the study "36 Questions to Fall in Love", Joe and Jenny are thrown into an intimate connection that neither we're prepared for, nor wanted. Exploring themes of love, death and the afterlife Joe and Jenny face a tough decision, to follow their heart or their heads?

Thirty-Six
In a disconnected world where we seem increasingly glued to our phones even dating has moved online. When did a couple just meet in a bar? Thirty-Six harks back to the days of those chance encounters. Lonely man, Joe, desperately wants a connection and having found the study Thirty-Six Questions to Fall in Love, he hopes to find his match. Lucky for him Jenny happens to fall into his path. It all seems so coincidental, or is it? In Thirty-Six, nothing is quite as it seems.
Exploring themes of Love, Afterlife and Death, this short-film looks at what is driving people in our modern age.
Thirty-Six is a short-film drama which was created initially as a play, but has been adapted for screen. It's a beautiful piece that really opens up the debate about life and love. With a great team of creatives, all graduates or drama school alumni, Thirty-Six has proven to be the much needed boost to many's lives.
Why this film?
During the course of lockdown Florence was confronted with the somewhat impending doom of life. This being, get a job you don't particularly like, get a mortgage, be stressed about paying your mortgage, and then work for 40 years until you retire and eventually die. *It was a bleak couple of months!*
With no employment, loss of her part-time job, and a very unstable acting industry, Florence found herself questioning the very point of it all. It was in this moment that she stumbled across a revelation 'Perhaps there isn't any point to it at all, And that's ok!'
From this realisation Florence wished to start a debate amongst others, probe them to think about their existence and what's it all for, because what we think it is can't be right.
As well as wanting to begin thinking differently about the world we live, Florence created this piece to help creative people. To help actors, producers and other budding theatre makers to put a foot on the ladder into the industry. All of us involved in this project are extremely passionate about it. There have been many meetings, and many redrafts, all to ensure the highest quality piece we can. We're fed up of waiting for the world to change, we want to bring the change.
Setting the mood...
We are working with a beautiful 70s inspired set and can't wait to indulge in its groovy nature!
In order to create our wonderful short Thirty-Six, it will cost us £2,500. We have tried as much as we can to keep budget down by borrowing what we can, using connections and helpful hands. But it doesn't cover all our costs, especially with the advent of COVID!
Your contributions will help pay for equipment, crew, production costs and distribution. It will also ensure that we are keeping up with the APA Covid filming guidelines, so we can test the cast and crew, do regular temperature checks and supply all safety equipment. We also are entering this short to film festivals around the globe, as well as looking into turning 36 into a feature film or short series.
We would be incredibly grateful for any contribution you feel able to give us. Thank you so much!
