Project
Suspicion
Suspicion is a horror-comedy set at Chesterfield Mansion in fictional Ashdale, UK. The main protagonist of the story is Max Chase, who is an arrogant actor set on creating his own film.
He is invited to Chesterfield because the host, MR Douglas, is willing to give away 500.000 pounds to someone who wants to make it big in the community and industry. Upon arrival, however, Max finds out there are three other potential guests who want to have a shot at the money.
They each are required to do an elevator pitch to MR Douglas to try and convince him why they should be getting the money. But when one of the guests goes into the study to speak to him, MR Douglas is found dead.
Suspicion is a student production and a final year project, led by writer/producer Lizanne Schreur and director Liberty Chang-Pin-Tive.
Hi there! I am Lizanne, and I'm from the Netherlands. I came to the UK in 2016 and went to Crown Woods sixth form, where I studied digital media. After one year at Crown Woods, I went on to Shooter's Hill sixth form and studied media. In 2019, I was accepted into Ravensbourne Univerity, London. I'm now in my third and final year of digital television production. I've always had an interest in writing. In my free time, I write my own series of books called The Citryne Chronicles and have written a few dramas at university. I am very excited to bring the story of Suspicion to life, and work closely with my cast and crew. This is also a challenge for me because I have never written comedy, and I want to be familiar with all kinds of genres that help me explore the world of film and tv.
Suspicion is directed by Liberty Chang-Pin-Tive. Liberty is also a third-year Digital Televison Production student. Like Lizanne, she also went to Crown Woods before coming to Ravensbourne University. She's previously had experience in producing two live shows and a short drama. She is very excited to work on Suspicion, as it's her first comedy, and is currently working closely with the producer and rest of the team to bring the script from page to screen.
Introducing Ethan Arif, who is helping Liberty put together the vision of Suspicion. He feels very comfortable directing and is currently also directing his own football match. He's done some work behind the camera for a few live shows, and has also sat behind the vision mixing desk. In second year of Ravensbourne, he directed a short horror/thriller and is very keen on shooting a comedy.
Daniel has experience in working as a DOP at previous personal and student productions. He currently works on the Plot London season 3 as a lighting and camera operator. For student productions, he's DOP for a football match.

BUDGET
WHY FUND US?
Suspicion isn't just a student production. It's part of a great passion of mine (Lizanne's). I would love to expand my knowledge on writing short drama and comedy. But, as a student, it's difficult to pay for actors, travel, equipment, COVID contigencies and production without your help.
1. To help us hire talents
Being a student does have its perks. We don't have to pay for our equipment and crew because this is a final major project especially designed for students to help out. Hiring talent, proves to be a lot more difficult. We're planning on having regular auditions and chemistry reads, and will try and pay them the full amount that is required, and also pay for their food and their travel.
2. To help our production be COVID-safe
Even with limited cast and crew, we'll try our hardest to make the production of Suspicion as COVID-safe as possible. We'll need funding to pay for lateral flow tests, face masks, and hand sanitizing products.
3. To help us fund for wardrobe, props and set design
We'll need your help to fund for our production design such as wardrobe, hair and make up, props and set building. We want to turn Suspicion in a true murder mystery by turning the set into a dark "haunted" house with provisions that we provide ourselves.
ALSO HELP US BY . . .
Spreading the word of Suspicion to your friends, family and through your social media! Any mention of this campaign means the world to us, and it will help us work closer and closer to our goal!
