Pocket Sun - Wake Up
Pocket Sun is a synth-loving, alt-pop music project based in Bristol, UK, formed in early 2018 by songwriter and visual artist Gina Marie Tratt. We're raising money for a music video for the upcoming single 'Wake Up'. To make this video we’ve teamed up with director Jamie Luke Milligan and his amazingly creative team to turn dreams into reality.

Pocket Sun - Wake Up
After gaining recognition from BBC Introducing and working with some amazing industry professionals such as Matt Brown (manager of Daughter), we went on to record our second EP with producer Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Portishead, Perfume genius), and now want to make the video to match!
We'll be launching ourselves into our first fully live action video for this project with the aim of a high production value. To make this video we’ve teamed up with director Jamie Luke Milligan and his amazingly creative team to turn dreams into reality.
We want to give life to the video through artistic visuals, telling a story of metamorphosis, outward appearances and pressures that many of us feel in the current times. Pairing up the evocative soundscape of the song with retro/nostalgic colouring and scenery is our ideal joint vision. The final video will incorporate the psychedelic into the everyday using video and animation, visually contributing to the journey of the song
Jamie is a writer/director who has worked on award winning short films and numerous music videos. His short film Mausoleum has played at over 20 film festivals worldwide and early this year was in the finals for The Pitch competition with his short 'Belly of the Whale'. Jamie is super excited to bring this project to life with Pocket Sun and with the crew that he's got together to create something truly special!
Jo has been working with Sofar Sounds for the past two years to put on unique gigs across Bristol, she is the producer for a Bristol based collective: Waveform Media and has been producing short films and music videos since 2015 in addition to running filmmaking workshops at Cardiff University.
Zoe Parker is an art director working in television and film, whose credits include Killing Eve, War of the Worlds and Jamie's short film Mausoleum. She's onboard with her incredible eye for detail and a love of plants.
Chris is a professional cinematographer who has shot numerous features, shorts, music promos and ads all over the world. He recently published his first photography book, Lost in Process, shot over 4 weeks in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Greta’s Lighting Designs have a powerful, poetic quality. Her ideas and concepts are given intensity by the use of a distinctive style and rhythmic quality, inspired by the meaning she seeks within her work and influenced by natural elements.
Josh is a specialist in production design. Working across the globe he has experiences in film broadcast and events.
Lucia has worked on such franchises as Marvels Black Widow and Amazons original Hanna. Having moved from Leicester she now resides in Dorset and continues to work as a makeup artist for Netflix and Warner Bros Productions.
Pocket Sun's very own Gina has been working as a motion graphics animator for the last 8 years in advertising and music. She has a particular love for bright colour palettes and kooky characters with a comedic quality.
Laura is an editor working on features, documentaries, ads, TV shows and short films, which have screened and won the occasional award worldwide. She loves to develop and enhance unusual and innovative styles, so is excited to help bring everyone's ideas to life!
So far Pocket Sun has been a predominantly self-funded journey which has its limits, so now we’re hoping to take it to the next level with the creation of this music video.
To fund this project we’re asking for £4000. This would mean fair pay for the crew involved and help cover many of the expenses necessary.

We hope to reach this goal within the 30 day campaign so that we can start filming in September/October and then on to the post production stage. Once the video is completed we will be sending it out into the world - we can't wait for you to all to see what we've envisioned!
