Paused
After a series of related symptoms, 24-year-old Eve begins to think she’s pregnant, only for a doctor to reveal that she is experiencing early menopause. Despite initial reluctance to address her feelings, the news forces Eve to seek support from those around her and to explore what it truly means to be a woman.
Project
Paused
'Paused' is a passion project for both director Erin and producer Emma. The pair are exceedingly motivated to depict female-led narratives that cover and address various under-represented topics on screen. Their previous work together has been nominated for the Royal Television Society 48hr film award. Having co-written the short together, Emma and Erin were inspired not only by themes of vulnerability and purpose but the concept of procreation and so-called 'feminity'.
The pair have also gained support and guidance from Claire Russell, an industry-leading script editor and producer with over 20 years of experience in television and film.
We hope this film will initiate more conversations about menopause, with the intent to understand what it means to be a woman and explore the relationships everyone has with their own bodies.
