blue bottles
An absurd tragicomedy exploring the possibilities of a seemingly conversational banality told through the many, many eyes of two unlikely characters… oh, and they’re flies… those characters are both flies…
Showing at The Lion and Unicorn Theatre from 4th to 7th November 2021.
Project
blue bottles
The play begins with an introduction of two opposing characters and develops their relationship with conversations about a collection of random thoughts and opinions, ranging from potentially unimportant discussions about roman gladiators and how a fly sleeps to the deepest parts of their ideologies. It explores themes of loneliness and how maybe, just maybe, a conversation with someone new can help you understand the world in a better way.
This abstract and original debut play from Thomas Sparrow is being produced by Periphery Theatre as their very first professional production. It is being performed at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre from the 4th-7th November 2021.
It is an exciting project, lead by an incredibly enthusiastic team, which is compiled of mainly first-time creatives in the theatre industry. It stands as many of the teams first professional credit and will get them onto the career wheel.

About Periphery Theatre
So who are the company putting blue bottles on? We're glad you asked! Periphery Theatre was founded in January of 2021 by Megan Basnett and Thomas Sparrow (the producers of blue bottles). We made this company because we recognised how tough it is to get into the theatre world straight after education, with barriers everywhere, especially after the... let's say... 'challenging' year the entire world has been through. We wanted to change that.
Periphery Theatre was founded to give people a chance. We have the aim to provide as many early credits to as many artists as we can, and blue bottles is just the start of that. Within the creative, most of us are first-timers and blue bottles will be our first professional credit.
So how can you help?
How to Help Us
We are only small. Our company is less than a year old and finding funding in a time like this is becoming increasingly difficult. However, as a company, we want to offer as much as we can to these artists who deserve to be paid for their incredible work. Your donations will go towards paying travel expenses, supplying sets and costumes for the production, and sorting official payments required to put on a live show.
Each and every donation is received with a MASSIVE thank you from us! If you can't donate, then we still appreciate your support, and if you want to help in other ways then follow us on Instagram and Twitter, then like and share anything we post about the show so we can peak the interest of as many people as we can! This honestly does more than you can possibly imagine!
So thank you so much for your support and we hope to see you at the show! 🪰
