Betty's Dream
"Betty's Dream" is a family-friendly animated film. The story centers on a girl named Betty and her brother, Sami, who has a severe disability — but also the power to control his sister’s dreams. Once Betty enters Sami’s magical inner world, their bond grows and they set out on a life-changing quest.
Project
Betty's Dream
Welcome!
We are developing a beautiful animated film and we hope you will join us in bringing it to life. The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds to produce a trailer. Many animated films have been successfully financed through crowdfunding websites like Greenlit, and now it is our turn to ask the animation community and all film lovers for a huge favour!
A year or so from now, when the trailer is released on the big screen, you will see your name on the end credits and feel like you were part of it from the very start. See below, different ways you can donate to make this project a reality.
Our team
The core members of our team are industry leading and award winning artists. They have worked for Netflix, Cartoon Network, Riot Games, Disney, and other major studios. See below, some of their previous work!
Edgar Martins
Edgar was Head of Story on "Klaus", the Oscar-nominated feature film. He will storyboard the whole trailer and supervise every artist on this project. See below, a short sequence that he storyboarded on "Klaus".
Shen Yi
Shen Yi wrote and co-directed "Best Friend", a short film that won the 46th Annie Award for Best Student Film. (The Annies are like the Oscars of animation). Shen Yi will design all the characters and help Edgar supervise the artists during the production of the trailer.
Bruno Mayor
Bruno will be in charge of developing the look of our film. He painted the style frame at the top of this page and will be responsible for defining the final look of "Betty's Dream". See below, a project which he art directed for "Valorant".
Surendra Rajawat
Surendra is a very talented concept artist who will explore what the magical world looks like in "Betty's Dream". See below, some of the beautiful artworks he already created!
The story
Betty's brother, Sami, who has a severe disability, can also control her dreams. Once Betty enters his magical inner world, they become friends and embark on a life-changing quest. Ultimately, this film is about bonding, healing old wounds, and discovering new ways to connect with others.
Why make this film?
"Betty's Dream" is a heartwarming, profound, and magical coming-of-age story. We believe it will stir a lot of emotion all over the world, help families heal, and allow people to engage in more meaningful conversations around the subject of disabilities.
Our goal
Our goal is to raise £50,000 to produce a feature-length quality trailer. The money which we raise through this campaign will carry us through the first phase of making the trailer: pre-production.
- Why a trailer? Because trailers provide a unique opportunity to test our pipeline and show the world what our film will look like.
- Why crowdfund it? Because successful campaigns prove significant commercial interest from people out there. For us, this is particularly important, as the industry tends to avoid characters with significant disabilities, like Sami.
Thank you!
We really hope you liked our project.
If you choose to contribute, please remember that your involvement is not only monetary. When you donate, you are also raising your hand, and signalling to our industry that you wish to see this film on the big screen.
